Tonight I attended the Delaware county Council Meeting in order to ask the questions that are on everyone’s minds and oddly enough I got answers before I even was able to speak.

Delaware County Council has filed a Certificate of Use and a Certificate of Occupancy for the buildings on Sproul Road that used to be the Cardinal Krol Center and Don Guanella. Their “current reasoning” is they would like to put offices and a 24/7 mental health facility in the buildings, housing mentally ill homeless from all over Delco. I had filed a Right to Know Request with Marple Township and received this file:

So the county does want to house people there at Don Guanella. I personally don’t believe this is their ultimate plan. For those who have read this blog, you know what I have said and I stand by that.

As for the title of this Blog, tonight it was decided that Don Guanella would be renamed “Delco Woods” but oddly enough County Council Member Kevin Madden decided to say that he feels “Nation of Immigrants Park” would be a better name for the land. Really think about that when you decide who to trust, Your local “Blogger” or Delco Council.

Marple Township will be Rezoning at the April 15th Commissioners Meeting and I have it on good word from my sources that County Lawyers will be there to fight the Zoning Changes proposed by Marple Township. Please attend this meeting and let’s Keep Don Guanella Marple Green Space.
