So far what we know is that someone or Bryan Colangelo himself outed health information and adverse opinions of Sixers Players. Then, an Egg account, outed all of this to the writers of the Ringer Article and the rest is history. It’s my opinion that Egg was run by Sam Hinkie. The Egg said he was involved in AI and that just so happens to be what Hinkie is invested in.

As a writer, I love to imagine all of the possibilities. Stories like this lead me to think of all the scenarios. I present to you my two top scenarios and my “dream, this would be too good to be true” scenario. Hope you enjoy.

Option A ‘Most Plausible’

Bryan Colangelo is an egomaniacal, pretentious, insecure man who is the product of nepotism. Bryan came to this job because of whom his father is and he was too insecure to face the fan scrutiny of Philadelphia. Every job Bryan has ever had has been because his father was Jerry Colangelo, owner of the Phoenix Suns.

Option B ‘Fall Man Mattia’

Bryan Colangelo has his son, Mattia, take the fall for the burner accounts. Is it possible this is a case of a son protecting father? Sure but highly unlikely. The live tweets of the basketball game would lead you to believe it would have been the father, but it could be possible the son sat out and live tweeted the ball game.

Option C ‘Hinkie the Sociopath’

I can only imagine how hurt a man’s pride could be when forced out of a great high profile job because of nepotism. Unceremoniously dumped when the city and owners loved the work you had done. It could push a man to write a 13 page resignation letter and what if that was just the tip of the iceberg? Dream with me, what if Sam Hinkie went underground and created 4 burner accounts to ‘stan’ for Bryan Colangelo. Went as far as to attend his son’s college basketball games and to live tweet from the stands. Stood up for Bryan and even viciously defended his choice of clothing. All this is possible but there’s one element missing:

The Inside Man

There’d have to be a man close to the action. Someone who mixes with the players and doctors. What if Joel Embiid loved Hinkie so much that he fed him all of that information? What if all this time Hinkie built hipa violations and ill will into those tweets and right as NBA news lagged between the conference finals and the nba finals he chose to strike. He created an egg and outed the burners. All laced with inside knowledge of what was going on inside the organization. Then he goes and locks said accounts to make it look like Colangelo was behind it. Could a man go that far?
