Cliff Lee came to Philadelphia in what seems a lifetime ago. I was sitting at my desk, a young public relations assistant, when the news broke. Ruben Amaro swindled the Cleveland Indians for one of the two premier pitchers in the American League. My excitement for my favorite Philly franchise rose to new highs. This team already gave me the best night of my life, was a repeat on the horizon? Unfortunately every move by RAJ after that turned the answer to that Question to a NO. Slowly but surely bad moves demolished what was the only sustained period of success by the Phillies in my lifetime. Twelve of the Twenty-Eight Seasons have finished with lower than .500 winning percentages. With our tomorrow’s freed to be great and cheerful we find ourselves in the position where our squad needs our cheers. They currently stand at 97 losses with five games to go. Win three and avoid infamy. Let’s get people back in those stands this last weekend of baseball and show these young players we are 100% behind them.
