When Nick Foles was traded for Sam Bradford I was outraged and upset. Nick Foles, when not throwing from his back foot, was the best quarterback I had seen in midnight green since Donovan McNabb. His uncanny ability to put the Eagles into a position to win, even when playing terribly all game, convinced me he has what it takes to win a Super Bowl. Never once did he walk off the field during regulation with the Eagles losing. The defenses always coughed up those close games. Then he was traded, alongside a valuable second round pick, for a quarterback I had long thought was a bust. Coaches and pundits started to tell tales of how accurate our new gun slinger can be. They started hyping Sam as the most accurate passer. Then came the Green Bay preseason game and I was caught believing their hype. He had touch. He had a gun. Then weeks 1-3 and I still have yet to see what I saw during that game. He has yet to show me once that he can put the correct touch on the football. He’s overthrowing, under throwing, over zipping and underwhelming the football with each pass. If the Eagles want to win this division he better get his touch back. He has the ability, let us all hope whatever it is that’s preventing him gets corrected.
